Volunteers from The Home Source, REALTORS® Coweta office in Newnan helped pick up roadside litter along Lower Fayetteville Road as part of Newnan Beautiful’s recent Great America Cleanup. They were among more than 200 participants who cleaned along various streets in Newnan followed by a picnic lunch served at City Hall. Among Home Source volunteers were (L-R) Jenny Turner, Linda Huff, Verkina Parrish, Chris Hunt, Audrey Galloway, Melodi Hicks, Pam Rineer, Jay Davis, and Kristen Cunningham. Free Homebuyer Workshop Slated at The Home Source Realtors

If you are thinking of buying a home, plan to attend a free Homebuyer Workshop at The Home Source Realtors Coweta General Brokerage office to learn what it takes to help make your dream of home ownership a reality.

The event, sponsored by Bank of America Home Loans, will be Thursday, June 25 from 7-9 p.m. at The Home Source Realtors in Newnan. Refreshments will be served.

“An abundance of homes for sale, low mortgage interest rates, and special incentives for first-time home buyers make this an excellent time to buy a home,” said The Home Source Realtors Qualifying Broker Linda Huff. “The Homebuyer Workshop is a great opportunity to gain insight on the home buying process, learn details on creating a budget to make the down payment, and gather information about home loan options.”

Workshop topics include benefits of owning a home; determining how much home you can afford; understanding, establishing and repairing credit; steps to obtaining a mortgage; and varieties of affordable mortgage programs.

The Home Source Realtors Volunteer at Special Olympics

Volunteers from The Home Source Realtors fill helium balloons before helping with relay events at the Fayette County Special Olympics, held this year at Sandy Creek High School. Special Olympians from Fayette County schools participated in the annual event, which included a parade of athletes, track and field competition, and medals presentation. Volunteers included (L-R) Chris Byrd, Leah Sides, Tom Hangen, Barb Miller, Amber Johnson, Jeannine Corley, Michelle Johnson, Cheri Scranage, Phil Corley, Pathway Communities; Will Rippeto and Kim Potts.

Taste of Newnan

If you are a resident of Coweta County and rarely visit the downtown Newnan area, here is the perfect opportunity. The fall “Taste of Newnan” is scheduled for October 2 from 5:00 – 8:30PM on the historic downtown square. As the name implies, The Taste of Newnan features local resturants and caterers with sample treats as you stroll the beautiful downtown area surrounding the 1905 Courthouse. Also there will be a chilli cook-off, and a ”Kidz Korner” on West Washington Street for children’s activities including a birds of prey demonstration by Winged Ambassadors. Coweta County Fair

Each September, a few weeks after Powers Cross Roads Country Fair and Arts Festival, the annual Coweta County Fair begins. If you have never been, the is really a treat for the entire family & all ages. There is an exhibit hall with community and commercial exhibits, and of course my favorite – the barn with all the animals! This is in addition to the usual midway with games and rides. Also each day and each evening has a special event. The Coweta County fair runs for 10 days – through September 27, at the Coweta County Fairgrounds on Pine Road, near I-85 Exit 41.
